Train: takes a little time comitment but can be relaxing and if booked out far enough can be very cost effective. Drops you off in the center of the city, Penn Station.

Automobile: driving is possible, depending on where you are driving from? Have to consider tolls, traffic and parking in the city. May be the cheapest option but driving can be challenging.
